Memorial Day!

On Memorial Day we went with our neighbor friends to Nat-Soo- Pah… a natural hot-spring not too far from our house. Even though it was a little bit of a chilly day to go swimming the water was warm and felt great! (Yes, although huge and pregnant, I went swimming too!) The kids loved that there was a water slide and Nathan spent the majority of the day taking Conner and Jayden down it. Conner thought it was great when Nathan would get to the bottom of the slide and would throw him as far as he could. The first time he did it I thought that Conner would come up crying but instead he had a giant grin on his face and said “next time throw me farther!”
Conner surprised us by asking to jump off of the diving board. He didn’t want to start off with low one but went straight for the high dive. He didn’t even hesitate; he climbed up the stairs and jumped right off! He thought it was so much fun and jumped off over and over again. Jayden really wanted to do it too but that is where I drew the line!

Afterwards we went over to our neighbors’ house for a BBQ. We were planning on roasting smores but we got rained on and ate some yummy dessert inside instead! We had such a fun day!

Building "Can Sassles"

When my Mom and little sister came into town for a visit, they brought the kids new sand buckets and shovels and spent a lot of time out in the sandbox building sand castles or “can sassles” according to Jayden! Putting a sandbox in our backyard has been the best thing…. The boys spend hours playing in it!

Conner's "Tools"

Last week Conner and I were sitting on the floor doing laundry and I asked him to push all of the clothes closer to me because it hurt my back and stomach to reach for them. He said “I’m sorry Mom, is it because you have a baby in your tummy?”

I told him “Yeah, sometimes having a baby in my tummy makes me hurt.” He had a concerned look on his face and said he’d be right back and he ran around the house gathering a few things. He came back with a basket full of stuff…he had a back massager, a brush, a fan, a bell, and a few other things…and proudly said “Mom, these are my tools to take care of you until the baby comes out!”
I LOVE this kid! He had me ring his bell when I was done having him rub my back, brush my hair, or fan me. When he was done he asked “Mommy, are you feeling a little better?” So sweet!! When Nathan got home, I told Conner to use his tools on Daddy but Conner said “No, I can’t use them on HIM because he doesn’t have a baby in his tummy!” Haha!

Since then, he has taken time out of every day to pamper me. He constantly tells me "Mom, let me know if you arn't feeling good and I'll take care of you." It melts my heart every time!

Nursery Reveal!

I’m now 38 weeks and am sooo ready to meet our little girl! These last two weeks always make me crazy. I hate playing the waiting game, wondering when it will be time. I’m way too much of a planner not to know! I want to have my house clean, be showered, have my kids at the babysitter, let my Mom know when to come, and have my hospital bag ready to go rather than be rushing around last minute. My worst nightmare is not getting to the hospital soon enough to get an epidural… I know scary thought! :)
I’m also tired of being sooo huge and mostly all the comments about being huge…. on Sunday a man accused me of smuggling a basketball out of the gym… haha!
At my 38 week appointment on Friday I was dilated to 3 and 50% effaced... So hopefully that is a sign that she will come a little bit early!

AND... The nursery is finally finished! It was alot of work but I love the way it turned out! I made a few of the things in there. I made the bead mobile... thanks for the idea Pinterest! I painted the B... for Brooklyn! I made the bow holder and sewed the curtains. I'm not a sewer so I had no idea what I was doing but I think they turned out pretty cute! Nathans's cousins wife made the bedding for me and I love it! Now all we need is a cute little baby girl!

Conner's Preschool Program!

I’m only two weeks and two days away from my due date so I figured I’d better get a bit of blogging done before I’ll be out of commission for a little while!
Last night was Conner’s preschool program… not graduation since he still has one more year of preschool. All of my pictures are terrible but at least we remembered to bring the camera!  They sang lots of songs and it was so cute! It was our first time being able to watch him “perform” and it was so fun, I totally had that “proud parent” feeling. It makes me excited to be able to watch all of his sports games and other performances over the years. Afterwards we had refreshments and you could tell that he was so proud of himself! We are so proud of our big boy too!

Fishing Fun!

Nathan LOVES to fish but hadn’t gone since we moved to Twin.  He heard of a good place nearby to go so one Saturday we packed a picnic and made a day of it! Conner has his own fishing pole but I didn’t think that he would be interested for too long. But I was wrong, he was super into it. He wouldn’t even look away from his bobber long enough to smile at the camera… “No Mom I can’t take a picture right now because I’m too busy watching my bobber, if it goes down it means a caught a fish!” Luckily Nathan did catch one fish so the boys were happy and the day was a success!  Although Jayden and I aren’t too interested in fishing, Jayden had a blast running up and down the dock and throwing rocks into the water. I brought a lot of picnic snacks and enjoyed watching the boys have such a good time! Nathan wants to get the boys into fishing so that he can have his little fishing buddies. I’m glad we’re having a little girl that can stay home with me and do… girly things…. craft, shop, bake, etc!

Donuts for FHE

A few weeks ago, during FHE, we let the kids eat a donut on a blanket in the living room. It seemed like a good idea at first…. until Jayden was covered head to toe in chocolate frosting… luckily we have leather couches!

Dandelion Love

Lately Conner has been obsessed with collecting dandelions. Whenever he comes inside and says “I have a surprise for you!” I somehow know that it is a dandelion. Conner’s expectation is that I hold onto it until it dies, I am in big trouble if I throw it away any sooner! The other day we went on a “dandelion walk” where Conner stopped whenever he saw a dandelion to pick it… it was a LONG walk… but he made quite the haul! Nathan takes such good care of our yard that we have very few dandelions… Conner is always sadly commenting on the fact that our neighbors have way more dandelions than we do. The other day Nathan was walking around spraying them and when Conner asked what Daddy was doing, I told him the truth. He yelled “NOOOOO DADDY!!" We told him that there would be plenty of dandelions in other people's yards for him to pick!

Sportin' the Sunglasses

Lately the boys have been obsessed with wearing sunglasses everywhere (especially Jayden) and although they have sunglasses that fit, they prefer the giant oversized ones... currently Jayden is modeling a pair of 3D glasses. These two are always making me laugh!
