Lots of Firsts

My mom and sisters were able to come up this week for a fun visit.
Here are Alissa and I with our cute babies! We took them swimming for the first time and here is Conner in his cute little swimsuit that my Mom got for him.

The best part are these cute flip flops!

He wasn't too sure about his sunhat but he let me leave it on him if I didn't do it up under his neck.

Here is Conner and Kynzee relaxing in the hot tub.

Conner just turned four months so we gave him rice cereal for the first time while my family was here. He just liked chewing on the spoon and spit most of the cereal out but for his first time he did pretty good so we will keep trying!

We also had a BBQ and had watermelon- yum!

I loved having my family here- they are so much fun!

Washington and other "Crazy" Things

We took a short trip to Washington over the weekend to visit Nathan's family. I think that I gained five pounds while we were there because Nathan's Mom loaded the house with lots of treats and I am not one to say no to anything with sugar... We were able to visit his grandparents and his grandma Grimmett took us out to Chico's for some high calorie but delicious pizza. She also baked us pumpkin pie..mmmm... Nathan's favorite part of the weekend was when his Dad took us fishing. We borrowed a little boat and took it out on the lake. Nathan was the only one to catch anything and it was just a little fish but here he is holding it proudly.

On a different note...
If any of you have been around Conner you may have noticed that he has some freaky feet. (Not that I don't love them but they are just kinda crazy!)We have always wondered where he got his crazy toes and Nathan insisted that it came from my side of the family. We were also worried enough about them that we asked the doctor if they would straighten out. Here is a pic of Conner's toes:

Anyways while were were in Washington I was looking through a photo album of when Nathan was a baby and I came across a photo of someone's crazy toes- toes that looked identical to Conners! I was like "are those Nathan's toes!" and sure enough Nathan had the same problem when he was a baby! I was like "you gave him the freaky toe gene!" His mom didn't remember that his toes had been like that- here is the picture:

Luckily Nathan's toes have straightend out and are actually quite attractive if you are a feet person... So we are no longer worried about his toes and best of all- Mystery Solved!

But speaking of crazy genes... Conner has got some crazy hair because it always stands sraight up! My mom always told me that my hair was the same way. I was looking through some of my baby pictures and I think that he has got me to thank for the "poof" on top of his head.

Here is me as a wee one:

I had to put up this picture as well as a close up because I love this picture of my mom! She won't be too happy that I shared this picture of her but I couldn't help myself. :)

New Toys and Tricks

We recently bought Conner a few new baby toys. (Gosh kids are expensive!) Here he is in his new bumbo chair. In this picture he doesn't look all that impressed with it but he looks so cute sitting in it! It has been nice because I can bring him into the kitchen with me while I make dinner. (He gets angry if he thinks that he is being ignored.)

If he gets too much chunkier I don't think his legs won't fit in the legholes! :)

He still prefers to lay on the floor so that he can flail his arms and legs so we also got him this floor toy. He loves staring at the fish hanging above him and talking to them.

Conner's new favorite trick is to blow lots and lots of spit bubbles. He does this all the time so we have to carry around a drool cloth to wipe him and ourselves off. Needless to say we arn't too impressed...
Conner has also decided that his fingers taste really good and is constantly knawing on them. Hopefully when he gets teeth he will realize that this is not such a good idea...

He has also become incredibly facinated by his hands. He aways has them clasped together and holds them in front of his face and will just stare at them for minutes at a time.

Nathan and I are always amused by the cute little things that Conner does and he keeps getting more and more fun.
