Conner at... almost 4!
·
Likes to undress and dress himself… so nice!
(even if his underwear and shirt are usually on backwards…)
· He started going to primary last month and he
LOVES it! He was a little hesitant his first Sunday but afterwards he told me “I
like primary mom, I TRIED it and I LIKED it!” Last Sunday I was a little early
dropping him off so I sat next to him until a few more people got in there but
he said “Mom, go to your class!” haha!
· He loves to see how smooth brand new peanut butter,
frosting, butter, etc. is when I first open the jar. He gets mad if I
accidentally scoop some before he gets to see… what kid does that?! Haha.
·
He has always said that he doesn’t like honey… I
decided to let him taste the creamed honey and told him that it was vanilla
peanut butter… he LOVES the stuff! I don’t even feel bad tricking him because
he is SO picky!
·
He is always comparing size and amount. Whenever
I give him and Jayden food Conner has to verify that he has more. Nathan got
the kids identical tractors but Conner always says his is the bigger one. He is
always telling me that one shoe is longer than the other… um nope it’s not!
·
He bites his fingernails… AND his toenails…
·
He is obsessed with the bike that he got for Christmas…
since he can’t ride it outside he rides it around and around the kitchen.
·
He just started sleeping in a twin bed and he
really likes it. He is really excited for when we move Jayden into his room…
sometime before the baby comes.
·
He loves family home evening and always has to
be the “leader” and directs us like we are in primary.
·
He loves to ride on “alligators.” Aka elevators.
· Almost every day he gets bored and tells me that
we should wake Jayden up from his nap.
· He is obsessed with calling my Mom and running
up my phone bill. He has her on speaker and if I try to say anything to her he
will say “No Mom, I’m talking to her!” and runs off with the phone.
· He says the funniest things. The other day I overheard Jayden asking Conner for one of his Starbursts and Conner said “Sure Jayden, my pleasure!” and the other day Nathan and I went to the temple and Conner said "You guys are going to go to the temple... to get a little more married?"
·
Lately
he has been refusing to go into the girl’s bathroom because "I'm a
boy!" So when I'm out with the kids I have to stand outside of the men’s
bathroom and wait for him to go.
Jayden at... almost 2!
·
He is a “Conner copycat.” He always has to be
doing exactly what Conner is doing. Sometimes it’s a good thing but sometimes
not so much…
·
He is always looking out for Conner. If we hand
him a cracker he says “Conner!” and we have to give him another one to give to
Conner.
·
He is starting to communicate really well. It
amazes us how many new words he says every day. He can mimic pretty much any
word that we say.
·
Every morning he tells me “Couch, Bot, cereal,
milk.” He wants to sit on the couch (he has a specific spot he likes and will
make us move if we are there), watch Bot (his favorite character on Team
Umizoomi, eat cereal and have a sippy of milk.
· He likes anything to do with letters. He calls
them all “E’s.” He will hold up a letter and ask “E? No…” and wait for us to tell
him what letter it is.
·
He loves animals and is mastering all of their
sounds… my favorite is when he says “oink-oink.” I don’t even know how to type
how he says it…but it is hilarious!
·
He refuses to leave on his socks and shoes… the
second we get in the car or into the house he pulls them off. Even when he is
playing outside this time of year he will come up to the door barefoot and hand
me his socks and shoes…brrrr!
·
He is still OBSESSED with cars and balls… no surprise
there!
·
He makes a little “stink face” when he is angry
where he puckers his lips and glares… I'm suprised that I don't have a picture of it since he does it ALL the time!
· He is extremely stubborn… I don’t know if it is
just the age and that he will grow out of it but that’s what we’re hoping!
·
Lately he has been refusing to wear a coat… but
since it has been freezing cold lately he usually cries when we go somewhere
because we obviously make him wear one…we’re so mean…
· He is a big time “bath pooper." (which Conner has never done!) The last time he
did it Conner said “Daddy is going to have to clean that up when he gets home!”
Unfortunately Nathan was out of town so I had to do it myself…ewww!
· We just moved him into the toddler bed and he
has been doing great! The first three nights were rough. He kept crying and getting
off the bed to sleep on the floor but by the fourth night he waved, said “wuv
ew, ni-night”, and slept all night in his bed. It has been like that ever
since! Wahoo!
· He loves to read books. He repeats everything
you say and gets so excited about every page!
