Easter!

Our Easter celebration started when we were in Idaho Falls the weekend before Easter. We dyed Easter eggs… we bought a “monster egg” kit so the kids got to put eyes, mouths, and hair on their eggs.
We had an Easter egg hunt outside for the kids and they thought that it was great! The night before Easter Conner left out some carrots and water for the Easter bunny. He was so thoughtful… he even asked “Does the Easter bunny like ice?” He helped me fill their baskets up with Easter grass and left them out for the Easter bunny to fill. He was incredibly excited for morning to come. When Nathan was putting him to bed he said “I’ll lay here until the Easter bunny comes and then I ‘ll come down and see what he brought me!” The next morning when Conner came and got us out of bed he already had a small pile of candy gathered and he kept yelling “The Easter bunny left me eggs and fruit!” I was confused until he pointed out the carrot shaped “eggs” that we filled. It took Conner forever to find all of the eggs because after finding each one he had to open it, sort the jelly beans from the wrapped candy, and have a sample.

Jayden was happy just sucking on random eggs and eating the treats from his eggs. We filled all of his eggs with different kinds of crackers...although he did get a jelly bean or two… which produced lots of colored drool…

The kids got spoiled with lots of books… Jayden’s musical book was a big hit with both kids!

It was great being able to go to church afterwards to be reminded of the true meaning of Easter. Although it was harder getting Conner to sit still because he was all hopped up on sugar! After church our friends had us over for a fancy Easter dinner… it was a great day!

A Week in Washington

The kids and I left Nathan a bachelor for a week while we vacationed in Washington with his family. His sister Whitney was going up for a visit and asked us to come along. It was a looonng car ride with three kids but we made it! We got to meet our new niece Edyn and that alone made the trip worth it! Conner really liked her and it was so sweet! But when I ask him if he wants another baby in our family he says “No, just baby Jayden!” haha. At least he will have lots of time to prepare himself… no baby anytime soon!

Conner had SO much fun at Nana and Grandpa’s. He got to do all of the things that he always looks forward to doing whenever we visit. He got a ride in Grandpa’s tractor… heaven!
We also had to go see Grandpa’s cow… always a huge hit with all of the kids. Conner ran around the majority of the time mooing at random cows. He also thought that it was great that he could create a stampede by running at the cows...Nana and Grandpa got a new gator right before we came to visit and Conner thought that it was the most fun thing ever. The weather was bad the whole time that we were there but Conner rode it almost every single day anyway. He loved riding it with his cousins but insisted on being the driver the majority of the time. He got really good at maneuvering it around and using the reverse.
Conner and Naomi playing together… it was a very rare moment so I had to take a picture!Grandpa’s lap is all of the kids’ favorite spot to sit. Jayden thought that it was hilarious to take his hat off and put it back on over and over again. One day we left the kids behind and all us girls got to go to Tri-Cities to shop. I was introduced to the awesomeness of Hobby Lobby… already having withdrawls! We had a lot of fun but it was great to see Nathan again! I was forbidden to leave again for at least the next few months!

Birthday Shenanigans...

My birthday was back on the 7th but the Sunday before my family came up to throw me an early party! They brought dinner, cheesecake, and gifts! They are the best! That night Nathan suprised me with an Ipad! I hadn't even asked for one so I was very suprised... I love suprises! :)My actual birthday was on a Wednesday so I didn't get to sleep in but I got the next best thing... to be woken up by my two adorable sweet boys! I kept telling Conner that it was my birthday but he kept saying " No Mom, your birthday is over." because we'd already had a party. haha. When Nathan got home from work (he even came home a little early) we had a fun evening. The night started out with tatoos... yes even Jayden...
Conner picked out all of our tatoos and he loved his so much that he fought taking a bath for the next few days because he didn't want it to wash off. We took the kids bowling for the first time. Conner was really excited because on his favorite show "Team Umizoomi" there was an episode where they go into a bowling ally. He was thrilled that he got to wear his own little pair of bowling shoes... the smallest size that they had were still big but we got him some anyway because he'd been so excited about them... in the show they arn't allowed in the bowling ally without bowling shoes...Jayden had a good time as well... he clapped and cheered for us!We picked up some Cafe Rio on the way home and ate it while we watched a movie. Nathan even brought home some hostess cupcakes so that they could sing "Happy Birthday" to me... and Conner was so nice to help me blow out my candles... :)I had a great day... There is nothing better than hanging out with my family!

Happy Birthday Conner!

Conner’s birthday was last Monday… I can’t believe he is 3! He had been talking about his birthday for the past two months so he was super excited when the day finally came.
On the Saturday before we had a little party for him and his friends. We had a frog themed party because he is very obsessed with the color green and isn’t really into any movie characters at the moment.

We played “pin the fly on the frog’s tongue”, bowling, and had a treasure hunt…. which Conner LOVED and made me do it again and again with him over the next few days.We opened presents… Conner ate jelly beans while he watched his friends open his presents. He got lots of games, puzzles, candy, and painting/coloring stuff... he felt so special that his friends brought him presents! And we ate cake and ice cream... these kids are so cute!

The next day my Mom, two of my sisters, and Conner’s two cousins came into town and stayed the night so that they could be there for the big day. We had a very busy, fun filled day! We started the day by opening Conner’s presents… this kid got spoiled this year! Some of the things that he got were a Cars bean bag toss game, a basketball, a Cars projector book, a Cars art set, a scooter... that he likes to ride around fast and say "Mom, it's a motorcycle!", and a... JEEP!I always wanted a power wheels car when I was little so I am totally living through Conner! The kids were so cute riding around our back yard. Conner LOVES it and wants to drive it even when it is freezing outside!

We had another party for Conner with pizza for lunch and had even MORE cake! We spent the next few hours playing with all of Conner’s fun new toys. After my family had to leave we went to Hop 2 It (a place with lots of blow up bouncy toys) with our neighbor friends and Conner’s little buddy Easton. The boys were in heaven and could have played for hours... Afterwards we got some dinner at Panda Express and then got some frozen yogurt at Kiwi Loco... Conner thought that it was great that he could put gummy bears on his ice cream! Conner was a very lucky boy and will have high standards for next year!
