New pics

We brought Conner home last Sunday night and have been enjoying him every minute. These are some pics from this past week.
He loves to be swadeled in this swadler that the hospital gave us.
So I think this may be a little to big right now.

He loves his swing and is actually in my baby blanket. We wrap him in it all the time.

This is when we brought him home in his little bear outfit.
Don't we look happy? We just love our little Conner.
This is his main sleeping position AKA the hallelujah shout pose.
He always gets the hiccups and if he is eating he keeps trying to eat during them. Or if he is choking he will keep trying to eat, basically no matter what is hapening he will keep trying to eat. He is going to get huge!

CONNER NATHAN GILBERT

Little Conner Nathan Gilbert was born Friday Febuary 20th at 4:11 A.M. he weighed in at 7 pounds and 12 ounces and 20 inches long with a full head of blond hair. We went into the hospital Thursday night and were induced at 8:20 P.M. and after 8 hours of labor which is actually pretty fast for a first time birth, little Conner came out to play. Unfortunitly about an hour after he was born he turned purple and the nurses whisked him away to the NICU. He was born with a complication that I do not remember what it is called and I couldent even pronounce it anyway. But it is fairly common and goes away in two to three days. What it does is makes his lungs so they can't absorb enough oxygen so his little body was becoming oxygen depleted. So they had him on oxygen for about a day and a half until he could sustain himself on room oxygen. He has been without his little breating hood for a little over a day now and is doing great they are still keeping him in the NICU to observe him and do tests, they did bring him into our room this morning for about an hour and a half to try and feed him which was difficult since all he wanted to do was sleep. We have learned breast feeding is actually pretty difficult. Things are looking on the up and we hope we will be able to bring him home tonight.

Here he is just minuets old.
This is when he was scaled off alot like a big fish.
This is where he has spent the past couple of days hooked up to 5 monitors and his little right foot has an I.V. in it to feed him since we werent aloud to until he could breath.

Thats his little breathing hood and of course he is asleep, I have only seen him awake twice so far.
This was taken this morning when they brought him to us to feed.

Officially ready!

Here is the beautiful cradle that my dad built for our little baby boy. It took him alot of time to do and one of the coolest things is that the oak that he used is from the old pews of the Ephrata stake center. So our child will be sleeping in a holy place. So now we are complete and ready for him to come we have plenty of diapers and now a place for him to sleep. Thank you daddy for building this beautiful cradle. It is defenitly somthing that we can use for all our kids and they can use for their kids and they can use for their kids, I think you get the idea. A quick update on Steph she is 80% efaced and dialated to a 1 which doesnt mean anything other than her body is preparing for birth. We go to the doctor again this Wednesday to find out more.
